Chamber meets first Monday of each month

The Alvarado Area Chamber of Commerce meets at 6 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at the Alvarado Public Library. All chamber members are encouraged to attend. Guests are welcome.

Chamber banquet is set for Dec. 3

The First Annual Alvarado Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet is slated for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 at the First Baptist Church in Alvarado.

Mike Doocy, Fox 4 News sports anchor, will be the night's guest speaker. For the past 13 years, Doocy has brought the Metroplex the nightly sports news at 5, 6, 9 and 10 p.m. and also anchors “Sports Sunday”. Doocy is one of the most liked and respected sports reporters in DFW.

The event will be catered by Salt Grass Steakhouse. Tickets are $25 per person.

The event kicks off at 6:30 with appetizers, followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m. Doocy will follow at 7:15 p.m.

The event will also include an awards presentation as well as induction of the 2010 officers.
